Retired sprinter Ussain Bolt, dubbed as the fastest man in the world, has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Jamaica’s Minister of Health revealed.
In his interview with the local media, Christopher Tufton said that the world-record sprinter and eight-time Olympic gold medalist has been infected with the disease, saying: “It is now public knowledge that Mr. Bolt has tested positive. He has been formally notified, I’m told by the authorities. ‘It triggers an approach to questioning, interrogation if you will, which we follow through with contact tracing.”
Bolt has earlier posted a video about waiting for the results and quarantining himself, with the caption “Stay safe, my ppl.”
The legendary sprinter added that he took the test last weekend after his birthday celebration on August 21, which he described as the “best birthday ever.”
