RAK Police launches beach safety drive amid summer crowd surge

Ras Al Khaimah Police has launched a month-long awareness campaign to promote beach safety and prevent drowning incidents as beaches across the emirate begin drawing larger crowds this summer.

The campaign is being led by the Media and Public Relations Department in coordination with the Community Protection and Prevention Department and local police stations across different jurisdictions.

Rashid Balhoun said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of beachgoers during the peak summer season, when beaches become a popular destination for families and young people.

The campaign, which began on the 18th of the month, will run for one month and includes evening field visits by specialized teams to beaches in Shaam, Al Rams, Al Mairid, and Ras Al Khaimah.

During these visits, police personnel are distributing safety tips and awareness messages aimed at reducing risks and improving public safety at the beaches.

Authorities are reminding parents to closely monitor their children and prevent them from entering deep waters that may pose serious danger.

The campaign also emphasizes the importance of following lifeguard instructions at designated swimming areas and observing all safety guidelines issued by authorities.

Lt Col Balhoun urged the public to cooperate with police efforts, stressing that drowning incidents often result in loss of innocent lives and deep emotional impact on families.

He added that adherence to safety measures is essential to ensuring a secure and enjoyable beach experience for all residents and visitors.
