Young Filipino athletes delivered strong performances in both combat and cultural divisions at the 2025 IFMA Youth World Championships.
In combat, Tyron Jamborillo earned a points victory over Hong Kong’s Sing Wa Wong, while Jan Brix Ramiscal scored a referee stoppage win against Sri Lanka’s Mohamed Ajees Ali Rumaiz Al Karne.
The Philippines also advanced in cultural events.
Katniss Mishiko Caasi secured a Top 3 finish, while Royeth Rosa and Athaliah Sarmiento both ranked first in their categories. Jamborillo and Ramiscal also took first place in the J16–17 Male Mai Muay competition.
The Philippine coaching team managed overlapping bouts for Jamborillo and Ramiscal, ensuring both athletes delivered winning results.
National representatives are set to compete in more matches in the coming days as they continue their campaign in Abu Dhabi.
The 2025 IFMA Youth World Championships runs until September 20.
