Abu Dhabi Airports reported a strong increase in passenger traffic in the first half of 2025, handling more than 15.8 million travelers from January to June, a 13.1 percent rise compared to the same period last year.

Zayed International Airport (AUH) alone welcomed 15.5 million passengers, up 13.2 percent year-on-year, marking the 17th straight quarter of growth.

Flight activity also increased during this period, with a total of 133,533 flights recorded across Abu Dhabi’s five airports, namely AUH, Al Ain International, Al Bateen Executive, Delma Island, and Sir Bani Yas Island, marking a 9.2 percent rise compared to the first half of 2024.

AUH accounted for 93,858 aircraft movements, which was 11.4 percent higher than the 84,286 flights recorded in the same months last year.

Elena Sorlini, managing director and chief executive officer at Abu Dhabi Airports, said the first half of the year posed operational challenges but still delivered strong results.

“Consistently delivering positive growth for the past 17 quarters is testament to the dedication and collective effort of the entire Abu Dhabi Airports team. It reflects our operational agility and commitment to delivering an exceptional aviation experience and attracting international investors. As Abu Dhabi’s tourism and trade prospects rapidly advance, our airports are well positioned to support and scale that growth,” she said through Abu Dhabi Media Office.

The network also expanded its global connections, adding 16 new destinations and several airline partners in the first six months of the year.
