Its purpose is to oversee, monitor, and regulate response plans, such as the distribution of resources and teams in case of emergencies related to heavy rain, as well as regulating the flow of traffic.
Representatives from Dubai Police General Headquarters, Dubai Municipality, and other entities, have been assigned to supervise, oversee and come up with a comprehensive response plan.
RTA has also teamed up with the National Centre of Meteorology in improving the collection of information on weather forecasts and other rain-related information in Dubai. This initiative aims to help in strengthening the preparedness on emergencies during heavy rain, as well as broadcasting informative and warning messages to the public.
The EC3, where the joint room is located, is one of the largest and most sophisticated control centres in Dubai. It has more than 7,000 surveillance cameras and operates using artificial intelligence in terms of incident and crisis management.
