The United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) airports are all set to welcome the visitors of COP28, happening from November 30 to December 12 at the Expo City Dubai, according to the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
In a WAM report, Saif Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GCAA, said the agency and the UAE’s aviation sector are important hosts of the global event, highlighting the country’s achievements in the aviation sector.
For over ten years, the UAE has launched various international initiatives eyed to reduce emissions. Al Suwaidi also noted that the authority formed a national team which included task forces specializing in media, operations, logistics, aviation storytelling, and with all its strategic partners in the aviation sector to host the conference and decrease emissions.
Moreover, Al Suwaidi revealed that the GCAA had won the bid to host the third edition of the Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels in November, which tackles the future of aviation fuel production and key steps to expedite the process.
