Lawyer Vigor Mendoza II has taken over as the head of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and is committed to swiftly addressing license plate and driver’s license issues.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Mendoza assured that he would prioritize public service and work diligently to improve LTO performance.
“Let’s not waste time sa rami ng kailangang gawin at sa rami ng kailangan nating maayos. Sana maayos natin sa lalong madaling panahon and then in the next 5 years dahan dahan na lang tayo,” Mendoza said during the turnover ceremony.
“I’m determined to help out the secretary kung ano po ang instruction ni Secretary sa akin ay iyon naman po ang ihihingi natin ng tulong sa inyo na magawa kaagad ang gusting mangyari ni [Secretary] sa LTO,” he added.
Moreover, Mendoza emphasized the need to promptly address any problems rather than waiting for years to resolve them.
“Let’s not wait 5 years, ang aking laging iniisip kung magagwa natin bukas bakit pa natin hihintayin ang next week. Gawin na natin ang magagwa natin ngayon,” he stated.
Mendoza, a former party-list representative and transportation official, was appointed by President Marcos and sworn into office by Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista.
With a background in public utilities, real property, energy law, corporate law, and litigation, Mendoza brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. He has previously served as a congressman representing the transportation sector and has experience in various transportation and energy-related boards and organizations.
As the new leader of LTO, Mendoza’s goal is to enhance public service and ensure exceptional quality. His diverse expertise in both transportation and energy sectors positions him well to take on this responsibility.
