The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been continuously providing relief aid to the people affected in the conflict in Sudan, as part of its humanitarian efforts to support displaced civilians.

In a statement released on Thursday, it was revealed that the UAE has sent three aircraft carrying around 52 tons of food supplies over the past two days. The two landed in Chad and one in Port Sudan.

On Friday, a UAE aid ship carrying 1,000 tons of food and other supplies has arrived in Suakin Port in east Sudan.

The UAE has also provided 1,572 tons of food and medical supplies sent to Sudan on 18 aid aircraft and one ship. It has allocated $50 million to support the humanitarian response to those affected and displaced due to the conflict in Sudan, as well as Sudanese refugees in Chad.

Moreover, Sudanese citizens in the UAE are given exemption from fines for violating the Federal Decree-Law on Entry and Residence of Foreigners in addition to following up on all their affairs and ensuring their settlement until their return to their country.

Meanwhile, the Sudanese Minister of Social Development commended and thanked the UAE’s efforts to support his country and affirmed the ties between the two countries.

The UAE was among the first countries to provide aid to Sudan, as part of its humanitarian efforts and policy to protect civilians and offer urgent relief to friendly countries in times of need.
