Woman finds out she accidentally married her cousin while she was pregnant

A TikToker from the United States recently claimed that her husband is her third cousin. She found the stunning revelation when searching for names for their newborn child, according to news.com.au.

Marcella Hill, 42, said she accidentally married her cousin while pregnant with his child. She shared this bizarre story in a recent video to her 3,00,000 TikTok fans.

“So I’ve never told anyone publicly that I accidentally married my cousin,” the Utah woman said, adding that she had no idea that their grandma and grandpa were 1st cousins.

She goes on to explain in the video that she was looking for the names of her grandfather, grandmother, great-grandfather, great-grandmother, and so on, when she noticed something was wrong.

”Husband’s next to me on his own FamilySearch, and he’s like, “Oh, that’s funny, we have the same grandma and grandpa’s names. I look at this line, and it’s all the same as mine. So I think, “Oh no no, you’re still logged into my account,” she said in the clip.

Mrs Hill and her husband called their respective grandmothers to see if they knew each other. As it turns out, they did, making the married pair third cousins.

The couple instantly googled if they had done something “really wrong” and examined the risks of having a kid with one’s third cousin.

Citing a Live Science story, she said: ”Google reassured us with this: ‘The researchers suggest marrying third and fourth cousins is so optimal for reproduction because they sort of have the “best of both worlds,”

Over time, the pair has come to accept the strange news and even joked that there are advantages to being connected. In another video, Marcella Hill said that their wedding took place in a local courtroom and that their grandparents were not there. In March, the pair will mark their 12th wedding anniversary.
