Abu Dhabi announces 5-day ban for trucks, buses for upcoming 51st National Day celebrations

Buses, trucks, and other heavy vehicles transporting employees will be prohibited from entering Abu Dhabi Island for the 51st National Day and Commemoration Day ceremonies, according to Abu Dhabi Police.

The mobility restriction applies to all entries, including the Sheikh Zayed Bridge, the Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, the Mussafah Bridge, and the Al Maqtaa Bridge.

The traffic restriction, according to Brigadier Mohammad Dhahi Al Hamiri, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, will begin at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 30, and will remain until 1:00 am on Sunday, December 4.

He noted that vehicles used for public cleaning and logistics assistance are exempt from the traffic restrictions.

Brig. Al Hamiri also stated that a complete traffic strategy would be executed, which will involve the deployment of traffic patrols on all routes as well as thorough monitoring via smart technology to ensure traffic flow.

He also advised motorists to follow traffic laws in order to maintain traffic safety.
