President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was “warmly” welcomed by overseas Filipinos in Indonesia as seen in a video posted on the official Facebook page of the Philippine president.
Trixie Cruz-Angeles, the press secretary, shared on Facebook Live how much enjoyment the president experienced on Sunday when visiting with some 500 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) at the Fairmont Hotel in Jakarta.
The Filipino population in Indonesia welcomed Marcos with cheers and acclaim, and many of them wanted to go up to him to shake his hand or take pictures.
While he was giving his address, several supporters even shouted, “We love you, BBM!” The President laughed in response.
“Grabe ang init ng pagtanggap nila sa amin… Parang nakaka-miss talaga ang makipagkita at makipag-usap sa mga kapwa Pilipino na matagal nang ‘di nakauwi. So ang saya-saya kagabi,” said Cruz-Angeles.
She also assured Filipinos of the Marcos administration’s commitment to make the Philippines more conducive for tourism and investment and create more jobs for the economy.
“Lahat ng ginagawa ng ating Pangulo ay tungo sa kanyang vision para buksan at muling maging masigla ang ating ekonomiya,” she added.
