A glider crashed in the Skydive area in Dubai, killing its South African pilot on Sunday, the General Civil Aviation Authority confirmed.
According to a report of the state-run news agency WAM, the “amateur glider” had a paramotor engine.
The authorities did not elaborate on the cause of the fatal crash.
Officials said investigation was launched.
The incident came just days after a glider accident in Abu Dhabi.
Last Wednesday, a pilot was injured after his single-engine, fixed-wing glider hurtled near the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
Authorities are still investigating the “technical malfunction”.
