Former President Fidel V. Ramos was accorded a state funeral and full military honors today, August 9.
As of 10:30AM, Ramos’ remains were transferred to his gravesite at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig.
Several banners bidding farewell to late and former president were also seen hanging in Taguig City on the way to the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
Ramos will be accorded with final military honors and 21-gun salute to pay homage to his life and legacy as the 12th President of the Republic of the Philippines.
“During his term, the nation was dubbed as the ‘Tiger Cub Economy in Asia’. Prior to his election as Chief Executive, he also served as Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP) in 1986-1988 and Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary in 1988-1991,” RTVM said in a statement.
