A new entity in Dubai is being set up to check anti-competitive practices.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai Thursday directed its establishment with the announcement being made during The Executive Council’s meeting at Expo 2020 Dubai.
The entity would ensure fair trade and consumer rights protection and review and develop consumer protection policies, media reports said.

It will also educate consumers about their rights and responsibilities and compliance of commercial establishments with business laws, reported state news agency WAM.
The entity will also strengthen corporate self-monitoring and ensure a seamless retail experience in Dubai for the local and global community.
