Presidential candidate and son of the late dictator Bongbong Marcos says that the declaration of martial law is still needed in the time of war.
Marcos was asked in a virtual forum if he is keen on declaring a martial rule.
“Martial law is necessary when there’s war so if we are not at war, and I hope we will not get into a war, then there’s no need to talk about martial law and resort to martial law,” Marcos said.

Amnesty International said that there were 70,000 incarcerated individuals, 34,000 torture victims, and 3,240 Filipinos killed by state forces during the Marcos regime.
The presidential aspirant meantime said that he will not shut down any media entity should he win the presidency.
“You listen to them. Sometimes they are right,” Marcos said.
