The UAE and the Philippines place another feather in their hat with a huge distinction as Guinness World Records recognized the creation of a Filipino sand artist in the UAE as the “World’s Largest Sand Image”!
Dubai-based award-winning sand artist Nathaniel Alapide converted over 250,000 feet of Abu Dhabi’s barren sands and transformed it into a magnificent masterpiece that depicts the UAE leadership spanning all seven emirates, along with the map outline of the country. The leaders shown in the masterpiece include the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and all Rulers of the Emirates.
Alapide, who was also recognized as The Filipino Times Awards 2018 Artist of the Year, stated that he was commissioned by the Abu Dhabi Sports Aviation Club to create this massive sand art that took him a month to finish.
“I am grateful to ADSAC for giving me this opportunity to create something this massive and have it officially recorded by Guinness Book of Records,” said Alapide.
He hopes that his recognition will serve as an inspiration to fellow OFWs and UAE residents to dream big and aspire to work towards fulfilling their goals.
“My message to the UAE is that we are capable of achieving big things in our life. We just have to find the courage to go and do it,” said Alapide.
