The Transportation Department said that 24 airports in the country have been damaged by Typhoon Odette.
Transportation chief Arthur Tugade said that these airports will be operational the soonest time possible.
Tugade says Siargao airport was the only one heavily damaged by the storm.

It is currently partially operational but not yet accommodating commercial flights. Tugade says they are aiming to open it on December 28.
“By tomorrow, even though the airport was critically damaged, it will be commercially operational,” Tugade said in a meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte.
