The Department of Health (DOH) announced on Monday a third case of the Omicron COVID-19 variant in the country.
The new Omicron variant case came from a returning Filipino from Qatar last November 28.
The DOH added that the third Omicron case is currently undergoing home quarantine in Cavite. The patient tested negative on Sunday.
Health spokesperson Maria Rosario Vergeire said the new Omicron case was unvaccinated.
“The patient is asymptomatic and quarantined in an isolation facility upon arrival,” Vergeire said.
“He completed his isolation in Cebu before traveling back to Cavite, his hometown, and immediately underwent home quarantine,” Vergeire told reporters.
