Countries across the globe have imposed fresh travel curbs over fears of the Omicron variant.
The new strain has impacted over 30 nations, including India, which had imposed a 21-month ban on international commercial flights.
Its neighbouring Pakistan has banned travel from Hong Kong and six African countries including South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini and Botswana “with immediate effect”.
The Philippines announced that travellers from the ‘yellow’ and ‘green’ travel list will have to submit a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure and must undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine (5-7 days in hotel facilities).
