Manila Mayor Isko Moreno remains unfazed on his order to scrap the mandatory face shield policy despite pending decision from the Inter-Agency Task Force.
“Yes, we will still because under existing laws, we are empowered to protect the interest of our people,” Moreno said.
Malacañang said that Moreno’s order on face shields could be considered null and void.
“If they’re not happy, they can go to court and ask for declaratory relief, I don’t want to teach them what to do,” he added
Moreno said that as mayor of the city he has the right to protect the interest of the people.
“In this case, without science arguing with our decision, my decision will stay,” he further said in an interview on ABS-CBN News.
