The Makati Local Government Unit is now investigating the selling of ‘Air Binay’ sneakers in a mall in Saudi Arabia.
The shoes were procured by the city government last 2019.
In a Facebook post, the city government said the supposed AB 3.0 sneakers being sold in a certain mall in Saudi Arabia were not owned by the LGU.
“A certain mall in Saudi Arabia is selling rubber shoes that resemble AB 3.0 – this is not in any way related to the city government of Makati and DepEd Makati,” the LGU said in a post.
“We are currently contacting our manufacturers and suppliers to further investigate the matter,” it added.
Makati City said that the shoes are free and given to students in Makati.
“We warn individuals and groups that there are legal actions in the unauthorized use of Makati City seal, as we commit to serve the #ProudMakatizens with transparency,” it added.
