An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Saudi Arabia was sent to jail after allegedly taking a naked selfie inside her room.
Relatives of OFW Ana (not her real name) said they contacted her employer after a week of failed attempts to reach her, reported GMA News. The employer told them that she was jailed.
“Sagot po ng amo na ‘nahuli si Ana na nag-selfie sa kwarto na naka hubad’,” Ana’s sister-in-law was quoted as saying.
Despite the accusations, Ana’s husband believes his wife could not take such indecent photos.
Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) Jeddah Labor Attaché Roel Martin said they would extend all possible help to the jailed OFW.
“Kami ay nalulungkot na may mga ganitong kwento pero bilang labor attache sa POLO Jeddah ay asahan ng ating OFW pati ang kanilang kamag-anak na tutulong tayo,” Martin told the report.
