Manila Mayor Isko Moreno’s first choice for vice president was Senator Grace Poe according to his campaign manager Lito Banayo.
“Hindi naman namin tinatago na talagang first choice namin si Grace Poe. We tried very hard. Several meetings, even Zoom meetings with her when she was out of the country,” Banayo told ABS-CBN News.
But Poe could not agree with the possible partnership.

“She couldn’t, she did not agree, principally because I guess one, the personal relationship between her family and Senate President Tito Sotto that weighed on her decision,” he added.
Moreno announces his presidential bid on Wednesday with his running mate Dr. Willie Ong.
Ong is not a placeholder according to Banayo.

“No Isko is not like that, I think you know him also, once he makes up his mind, he sticks to it. That’s it,” he said.
“That’s done, that’s a done deal, Doc Willie is our vice-presidential candidate,” Banayo added. (TDT)
