The Department of Health reported that 279 additional Delta variant cases have been detected in the country out of the 367 samples tested by the Philippine Genome Center.
Out of the 367 samples tested, 76% were Delta variant cases. Of the newly reported Delta cases, 245 are local cases, 21 are returning overseas Filipinos, while 13 are undergoing verification.
Five Delta cases have also been detected in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), which means the highly contagious variant is now present in all 17 regions across the country.

Two cases remain active while 8 patients have died. 267 cases have been considered as recovered.
Meantime, 29 Alpha variant cases, 28 Beta cases, and 13 P.3 variant cases have also been detected.
