The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC) has advised unvaccinated individuals to avoid travel to the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the two nations continue to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic.
In an advisory, the US-CDC placed UAE under Alert Level 4 or “very high” COVID-19 risk while the Philippines was placed under Alert Level 3 which is classified as “high” risk.
Travelers are advised to avoid going to countries under alert level 4—such as the UAE, said the US-CDC. But those who have to travel to these countries are urged to ensure they are fully vaccinated first.
Meanwhile, the US-CDC said unvaccinated travelers should avoid nonessential travel to countries under Alert Level 3 such as the Philippines.
“Make sure you are fully vaccinated before traveling to these destinations,” the US-CDC said.
