President Rodrigo Duterte has ranted about a city’s “disorganized” approach in distributing aid and vaccine program during his speech to the nation on Monday, August 9.
The President also hit the mayor, whom he did not name, over his sexy photos on the Internet.
Netizens were quick to assert that Duterte could be referring to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. He was the only mayor who was also a former showbiz actor.
“Hindi lang tayo puwede magsalita ng pulitiko dito, pero ‘yan, kayong mga Pilipino, huwag kayo magpaloko diyan sa mga pa-drama magsalita. Nakita ko nga sa Facebook kanina, lahat ng, nakabikini ang gago. Tapos may isang picture pa doon na sinisilip niya ‘yung ari niya,” Duterte said.
Duterte said that a man with that kind of past should not be president.
Moreno has been performing well in surveys next to Duterte’s daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
“‘Yan ang gusto ninyo? Ang training parang, para lang call boy, naghuhubad… ‘Yan ang training ng presidente, maghubad at magpapicture, at magsilip, magyabang sa kanilang ari,” he said.
Moreno previously said that his past in show business is an open book. Sexy photos of him have been used again by his critics to discredit the Manila mayor.
Duterte also withdrew Manila’s power to distribute aid for being disorganized.
“There’s only one city in Metro Manila, I saw in TV the disorder and chaos prevailing whenever may mga pamana, kung ano,” he said.
“Tinanggal ko muna ‘yan sa kanila at binigay ko doon sa Department of the Interior and Local Government, pati ang DSWD. Kayo na muna hanggang matuto sila,” he also said.
Moreno responded by showing photos of him receiving recognition from the DILG and DSWD for efficient distribution of aid.
