Vice President Leni Robredo is the most logical and winnable choice for the opposition for the 2022 national elections according to Albay Representative Edcel Lagman.
Lagman made the statement after coalition 1Sambayan made the announcement of six of its nominees for the presidential and vice-presidential race.
“She is the highest elected official in the ranks of the opposition, a heartbeat away from the presidency,” Lagman said.

The lawmaker said that Robredo is the most logical, qualified, viable and winnable choice for the opposition.
“She has an enviable track record of winning the second-highest national position, a feat which shattered pollsters’ predictions,” he added.
Lagman also cited Robredo’s demeanor that is in contrast with President Rodrigo Duterte’s character.

“Her effective and singular performance during the continuing onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic exposes the errant and failed response to the contagion of President Duterte,” Lagman said.
“Her enduring adherence to constitutionalism and the rule of law is the direct opposite to Duterte’s repeated violations of the Constitution on due process, human rights, and press freedom, among others,” he added. (TDT)
