At least 51 people who attended an improvised pool party and drinking session in Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon in Quezon City tested positive for COVID -19.
According to the Quezon City government, they were part of 610 attendees who underwent RT-PCR tests after the superspreader event.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has warned her constituents against organizing huge gatherings that may trigger an outbreak of COVID-19 in the city.
QC LGU has placed the barangay under lockdown since May 14.
Meanwhile, 18 residents who were swabbed are waiting for the results of their COVID-19 test.
A total of 31 attendees are currently under isolation.
