The local government of Caloocan ordered the closure and revocation of business permit of a resort for operating despite the pandemic protocols in place amid the prevailing Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine in Metro Manila.
The closure came following the viral video of the resort where people are seen swimming in the pool on Mother’s Day.
Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan on Sunday said he immediately ordered the closure of Gubat sa Ciudad resort as well as filing charges against the resort owners.

“Hindi natin na-monitor. ‘Yung na-monitor lang natin ‘yung maraming tao,” Malapitan admitted in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Malapitan added that resort management, barangay officials and those who swam in the resort will face charges for violating COVID-19 protocols.
“Buong pwersa ng batas ang ipapataw sa mga may-ari at operator ng resort kasama na ang mga nag-swimming at ang mga pinuno ng barangay na tila nagpabaya sa kanilang tungkulin,” the mayor said in a statement.
According to the Inter Agency Task Force against COVID-19 guidelines only resorts under general community quarantine and MGCQ are allowed to operate.
Contact tracing and RT-PCR tests are underway for the visitors and staff of the resort. (RA)
