Pagudpud’s white sand gem, Saud beach, has been included by Travel & Leisure on its ’25 Most Beautiful Beaches in the World’ list.
Touted as the “Boracay of the North,” Saud beach captivates travelers with its long white sand shoreline, crystal-clear waters and beautiful scenery.
Editors from the New York-based magazine described the beach located in the northernmost portion of Ilocos Norte as “super mellow” and a “beach bliss.”
“Its white sand pitches gradually into the clear-as-glass water, like a real-world example of a zero-entry swimming pool,” it wrote.
In a statement, the Department of Tourism celebrated the beach’s inclusion, which is the sole Philippine entry to the list.
“The DOT salutes the sole Philippine entry to the list, joining the ranks of other globally-recognized beaches such as the Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Hanelei Bay in Kauai, Hawaii; Cape Le Grand National Park in Western Australia and others,” the statement read.
