Senator Panfilo Lacson on Monday took to social media to criticize the government’s COVID-19 response which he compared to an autopilot mode.
Lacson lamented that the COVID-19 cases continue to spike, which has reached an all-time high of 15,000 cases last week.
“The coronavirus has gone berserk. While it is on ‘at-will’ mode, we are like, on autopilot,” Lacson said in a tweet.
“We can’t feel someone is in charge. Sobrang malas! (What bad luck!)” he added.

Asked if the Senate could suggest recommendations to the government he said:
“We have repeatedly urged the President to change the crew, or at least the captain, even passed a resolution in this regard; exposed shenanigans in many investigations in almost every aspect of the handling of the pandemic; passed urgent legislations and I don’t know what else.”
