The Dubai Criminal Court has dismissed again an appeal from a man who was convicted for murder 18 years ago. The Indian man-made the appeal in 2017.
He is one of the three suspects who are serving life sentences for killing the owner of a tailor shop in 2003.
The first two suspects were convicted of premeditated murder in 2004 while the third suspect managed to flee. The third suspect, however, was arrested in 2016 when he returned to the UAE.

In a report on the National, court records showed that the three attacked the victim, hit the man with a solid object and stole some cash.
When the victim regained consciousness, the three suspects stabbed him to death including his chest, neck, and arms.
The suspects stole his mobile phone, Dh300 and his ATM card and withdrew Dh5,500.
Authorities were able to arrest one of the suspects immediately through a surveillance camera installed in an ATM. The suspect then pinpointed two of his other co-suspects.

“The third partner … who the other two said was the mastermind behind the murder, returned to Dubai in June 2016 and was arrested at Dubai International Airport. The pair told us he was facing financial difficulties and suggested they steal from the victim,” a police officer told the court.
Based on UAE law, a convict serving a life sentence can appeal for an early release after 15 years. A committee will study whether or not to grant the plea.
“The committee looks at the inmate’s conduct during incarceration and if they would pose a threat to society once released,” a legal consultant said.
They can re-appeal for an early release after two years. They will be deported after serving their sentences. (TDT)
