A criminal court in Dubai sentenced a 22-year-old Asian man to life in prison and ordered his deportation after he was convicted of murdering an Asian housemaid.
The man, an unemployed construction worker, was accused of hitting the maid on the head with a sharp object and killing her dog while trying to rob her employer’s villa, newspapers reported.

Court was told that the man had been assigned by his firm for maintenance work at the villa before he was sacked for some reason.
After losing his job, he decided to rob the villa and went into the maid’s room to hide when she returned from the shop.
When he tried to flee, he came face to face with the maid and decided to get rid of her by hitting her with a sharp object.

He also killed the dog with the same object and fled to a remote area where he disposed of that object.
But police identified the killer a few days later and arrested him.
