Dubai Police has rescued 186 children who got locked inside cars, rooms, elevators, and bathrooms in 2020.
Of this number, authorities stated that the majority of the kids got locked inside their rooms and bathrooms, with 124 who got rescued by Dubai Police. Meanwhile, there were 53 children rescued from locked cars and another nine who got locked inside elevators.

Dubai Police released these figures as a reminder after a four-year-old kid in Dubai died after her father left her in the car after shopping.
From January to February 2021, authorities rescued another 11 children from locked cars, and 15 from locked rooms, as per reports from Lovin’ Dubai.
An official stated that while homes may be one of the safest environments for children, parents should still be wary and not leave their kids unattended to avoid accidents.
