Doctors at Tawam hospital in the Eastern oasis town of Al Ain saved the life of a 4-year-old UAE girl who was forgotten by her family inside a locked car for nearly four hours during the scorching summer heat.
The girl was rushed to the hospital in a serious condition after her parents found her unconscious inside the car while they were on a visit to relatives.
The incident occurred last week and doctors raced against time to save the girl’s life after she was brought with serious physical and brain complications.
“Within 48 hours, the girl started to regain consciousness and improve… she is now in a good condition and under medical observation,” the official Arabic language daily Al-Bayan said, quoting a doctor from Tawam.
The paper quoted the child’s grandfather as saying her father forgot her inside the locked car and only discovered his mistake when he returned to the car from relatives four hours later.
