Vice President Leni Robredo doubts the Duterte administration’s seriousness in ending drugs and corruption in the Philippines.
In an interview on GMA News, Robredo sees the lack of resolve from President Rodrigo Duterte to fulfill his campaign promise.
“Para sa akin parang hindi sila seryoso… Apparent naman ‘yung pagkukulang. ‘Yung solution hindi madali pero doable. Pero parang ayaw gawin,” she said.

“Kasi ‘yung mga ginagawa hindi natin nakikita ‘yung resolve na talagang to put an end to both our drug problem and corruption in the country,” Robredo said.
It can be recalled that Robredo was appointed as co-chairperson of an Inter-Agency Council on Anti-illegal drugs but was later on removed after she met with foreign officials in doing her job.
She submitted her recommendation to Malacanang but officials say they found nothing new on Robredo’s inputs.
“So para sa akin, parati ‘yung question after ako nag-ICAD, ‘yun ‘yung question parati sa isip ko na bakit parang meron akong impression na hindi seryoso na ayusin talaga ‘yung drug problem,” Robredo said.
The Vice President also cited the lack of sincerity in fighting corruption in the government.

“‘Yung corruption kasi parang madali lang sabihin na against ako sa any form of corruption, pero ‘yung corrption kasi marami levels na kailangan mo ayusin. Ang number one doon is transparency,” Robredo said.
“And walang any indication na gusto maging transparent. Maraming mga bagay, maraming information na hindi natin alam, maraming mga bagay na walang willingess talaga,” she added.
Robredo also said that some officials tagged in corruption were just moved to another government post.
“Huge part of an anti-corruption drive is accontability pero nakikita naman natin na maraming implicated na sa corruption na tatanggalin pero ililiipat sa ibang position so parang alam mo ‘yun, ano ‘yung point? Hindi seryoso,” Robredo said. (TDT)
