The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday announced 1,912 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections, bringing the total tally to 494,605.
The DOH attributed this lot to late reports submitted by seven laboratories.
Of the total number, there are 25,614 active cases, while total recoveries reached 459,252 after 746 patients have recovered.
Meanwhile, the death toll has hit 9,739 with 40 new fatalities.
On Monday, the country reported its first confirmed case of the UK COVID-19 variant, which is believed to be more transmissible.
The ‘patient zero’ is a 29-year-old man, who arrived from Dubai last January 7.
His household and close contacts were immediately isolated.
However, some co-passengers of the man are rejecting the phone call of the DOH.
