Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Debold Sinas on Monday has ordered the “immediate dismissal” of a police officer, who shot a man dead after he mistook him for a robbery suspect in Pampanga.
“Ongoing po yung another filing sa kanya for illegal discharge of firearm, lahat po ay criminal. I instructed RD (regional director) to also conduct the administrative case for his immediate dismissal din,” Sinas said at press briefing.
Federico Pineda, 29, died after suspect Police Corporal Eframe Ramirez mistook him for the robber he was chasing.
The victim just came from his child’s 7th birthday party.
Ramirez was taken into custody and is not facing frustrated homicide charges. If found guilty, he will also face administrative charges.
The real robber was also caught that same night named Joven Basera.
The incident comes after the viral incident involving policeman Jonel Nuezca who killed his two neighbors after a heated confrontation in Paniqui, Tarlac.
