An overseas Filipino worker in Hong Kong has been fined HK$5,000 or at least Php30,000 for not following health protocols.
Philippine Consul General in Hong Kong Raly Tejada shared on Facebook the penalty of an unnamed Filipino for not following the use of face mask and social distancing.
“Lagi po nating sundin ang mga alituntunin ng Hong Kong ukol sa pagsusuot ng facemask sa pampublikong lugar at social distancing,” Tejada reminded OFWs in Hong Kong.

“Kawawa naman si Kabayan. Pinagmulta last Sunday ng $5,000 dahil di nagsuot ng facemask sa may Statue Square,” he added.
Early this month, another OFW faced fine in Taiwan for health protocol violations.
Taiwanese authorities imposed a fine worth $3,500 or about P168,0000 to a man who violated quarantine protocols for eight seconds.

The Filipino migrant worker was in quarantine in a hotel in Kaohsiung City and he went out of the hallway according to Taiwan’s official Central News Agency (CNA).
He was caught on CCTV by a hotel staff. The health department fined him 100,000 Taiwan dollars — around $3,500. (TDT)
