UAE authorities managed to save public lives by being able to seize large quantities of substandard face masks and sanitizers.
The raid was conducted in dozens of illegal compounds in raids and enabled authorities to save the public from using these products.

In a report on the Gulf Today, the Hatem Abdel Ghani, Partner, Director The Legal Group (TLG) said this achievement in a day-long annual workshop “Intellectual Property and Brand Protection Training”.
“The purpose of organizing the annual workshop to distinguish between genuine and counterfeit products and the risks of counterfeit products through the multimedia presentation by the concerned experts,” he said.
The official said that the number of counterfeit items increased during the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We noticed that many factories in the countries illegally producing counterfeit products like face masks and antiseptic sanitizers to fill the gap of local demand,” he said.
“The authorities have raided more than 20 factories and set up established in parking lots, warehouses, farmhouses, and even in residential apartments producing counterfeit products of international brands,” the official added. (TDT)
