From the Nursing Licensure Exam (NLE) in 2011 to the November 2020 Physician Licensure Exams (PLE), Jomel Garcia Lapides of the University of the Philippines – Manila has been a consistent topnotcher.
With a rating of 88.67 percent, Lapides scored the highest rank among the more than 3,500 medical students who passed the 2020 PLE.
This year, a total of 4,704 took the test.
Also in the top 5 of the PLE 2020 was Tiffany Grace Uy, the student who got the highest general weighted average (GWA) in the history of the University of the Philippines (UP) since World War II. She ranked top 5.
In 2015, Uy had an almost perfect general weighted average of 1.004.
She finished her BS Biology course and pursued a medicine degree in UP where she graduated with honors again as Magna Cum Laude.
The UP alumna’s achievement becomes an instant trending topic once again after the results of the board exams were released.
