Britain has confirmed that it is expecting to start disseminating the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine of pharmaceutical company Pfizer before Christmas, BBC reported.
According to the country’s health minister Matt Hancock, if the vaccine is declared safe and effective, it is highly likely that it will be rolled out by December.
“We’re working very closely with the company. We’ll be ready to roll it out as soon as it comes, we’ll be ready from the first of December…, but more likely is that we may be able to start rolling it out before Christmas,” he said in an interview with BBC TV.
He added, however, that the number of vaccines Britain would need would depend on their efficacy in preventing transmission.
