Seven people have been reported dead while over 70 have been injured after a bomb exploded at a religious seminary at the city of Peshawar in Pakistan.
“Unknown people planted explosives in a plastic bag,” said a police officer as per reports from Reuters.
Tariq Burki, director of Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital confirmed that four out of seven who were reported dead were children.
Police and hospital officials stated that there has been an increase in attacks on security forces this year at Peshawar, some of which were claimed by the Pakistani Taliban.
