The sighting of the Suhail star in the UAE marks that the country is about to end the wave of the summer heat.
Suhail was sighted during the early hours of August 24, which for local pearl divers and citizens mean that winter will be arriving soon in the country in the coming months.

The ancient drour calendar of the Gulf advises that cooler weather will be expected around 70 to 80 days after the sighting of the Suhail star, which is known as the ‘Canopus’ star in the West, as per reports from The National.
However, recorded temperatures have already shown better numbers from 32-46 degrees a week prior, down to around 33-40 degrees as of last weekend.
