Starting Thursday, August 27, there will be stricter border measures entering Abu Dhabi emirate in order to prevent the spread of increasing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the country.
The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee through the Abu Dhabi Media Office has announced the approval on two set of tests for people to enter the emirate.

An individual must present either a negative PCR test result within 48 hours from receiving the result or DPI laser test taken at the border.
However, the committee emphasized that “the same type of test cannot be taken twice in a row within 6 days”.
This measure is in cooperation with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi in order to strengthen its precautionary measures.

There are, however, exemptions. Volunteers in the COVID-19 vaccine trials are exempt from these measures.
They are also given authority to use emergency vehicle lanes for a smooth journey.
The Committee reminded that violation of these measures will result in penalties and fines as outlined by the Attorney General.
