Solon wants NAIA renamed Ferdinand E. Marcos International Airport

Received by the House of Representatives last June 30, Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo ‘Arnie’ Teves submits bill proposing to rename the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to Ferdinand E. Marcos International Airport (FEMIA).

According to Teves, the move is set to honor the contribution of the late president in the execution and construction of the airport.

It can be recalled that Former President Cory Aquino pushed for the rename of Manila International Airport (MIA) to NAIA in honor of Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino who was assassinated at the airport on August 21, 1983.
