Saudi Arabia has decided to exempt select social insurance beneficiaries, orphans, and persons of determination from paying overdue rents for three months, Saudi Press Agency reported.
According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, in cooperation with the Ministry of Housing, this decision is part of the Kingdom’s way to mitigate the economic impacts of the precautionary measures undertaken to alleviate the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
According to the authorities these beneficiaries have been handed over units from the Kingdom’s developmental housing project as part of the government’s bid to help families and the most needy in the society. Some of these beneficiaries have had rent debt owed to the authorities.
In addition to the exemption, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has decided to stop revising medical reports of persons of determination until the end of COVID-19 pandemic.
