Saudi bans marriage under 18

Saudi Arabia has ordered for all courts to ban marriage for everyone aged under 18 years old, Saudi Gazette reported.

The Kingdom’s Ministry of Justice has barred the marriage of men and women under 18 years, and has set the said age as the minimum one for marriage.

According to a report by Saudi Gazette, the Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Sheikh Dr. Walid Al-Samaani issued a circular to all courts about the ban, and requests that suggest otherwise should be referred to specialized courts to implement regulations in line with the Child Protection Law.
