“This is WEMART’s first direct procurement of goods, eliminating the middleman to earn the difference, saving the transportation time, and reaching your table as quickly as possible from the moment it is picked,” said WEMART in a press release.
All about the Egyptian orange
Egypt is known for its fertile soil and perfect weather conditions, and the Nile Delta is one of the most fertile agricultural regions in the world. The fertile delta soil, sufficient sunshine throughout the year ensures the high quality and yield of Egyptian oranges, the climate characteristics of warm days and cool nights give oranges rich nutrients, and the Nile River, Egypt’s mother river, provides sufficient water for orange growth.
Egyptian orange peel is thin and thick, juicy, and sweet. The fruit has a higher solids content, with a solids content of 10%-12%, and the sugar content is 20%-25% higher than that of ordinary citrus fruits. In addition to protein, carbohydrates, cellulose, and carotene, Egyptian orange contains many essential amino acids and trace elements. Egyptian orange is currently the only citrus variety that does not sour during the green fruit period, and it is also the most suitable citrus variety for middle-aged and elderly people.
