Pinoy teachers thank UAE for growth opportunities on celebration of World Teacher’s Day

In celebration of World Teacher’s Day, The Filipino Times reached out to several overseas Filipino teachers who have expressed their gratitude to the UAE for providing them with opportunities to learn, grow, and be appreciated in their commitment to impart knowledge to the next generation.

Here are their words of gratitude as OFWs in their second home that has provided them with opportunities for growth and development – the UAE.

“The UAE provides vast opportunities for Filipino Teachers here in the Emirates. They provide very good benefits and sufficient salary to support the need of the family. They also provide a very good programme that sustain the training of the teachers,”

” In general, the UAE has provided all the ways to fulfill its service to their citizens and residents. And because of that, resources are available to the students: Books, project materials, internet/technologies and teachers from different nations. What the government provides for the people really has a great help especially for Teachers. Filipino teachers here I believe enjoy their facilities and ease as they can mostly focus their teaching. Education agencies of the government provide training to further enhance all educators skills. May Allah bless this country!,”

Examples that I remember were a Science fair field trip, radio studio workshop, educational trip to Louvre museum and more. We also receive talks from the community police that widen our knowledge on school safety and the local community,”

The UAE empowers teachers by providing various CPD that enables the new teachers in the UAE to adapt into its education culture. By attending CPD the teachers will have additional qualifications which count as they pursue promotion in their career. – Kristine Navalta, 8 years, Dubai

Teachers are at the heart of education and plays a crucial role in laying the foundation for students to build their professional and promising futures. WIth the current times teachers are constantly having to adopt new skills, knowledge and the ever-changing technological advances in the different methods of teaching styles to ensure the students understand the valuable life lessons being taught to them. The UAE supports all teachers through these advancements. As a Filipino teacher here in the UAE, I would say through my experiences that the UAE government treats us equal and fair. They give their full trust and support to us in terms of educating the young minds and to be part of their lives for them to fulfill their goals and dreams so they can navigate through the ever-transforming world we live in. – Janette Bunag Pascual, 9yrs, Abu Dhabi
